WhatsappHamas submitted terms to Israel via mediators in the latest attempt to return Israeli hostages to their homes. The terms were a non-starter in Israel, whose government rejected them.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said the following: “Let it be clear: I reject outright the terms of surrender of the monsters of Hamas. In exchange for the release of our hostages, Hamas demands the end of the war, the withdrawal of our forces from Gaza, the release of all the murderers and rapists of the Nuh’ba and leaving Hamas intact. If we agree to this – our warriors fell in vain. If we agree to this – we will not be able to guarantee the security of our citizens. We will not be able to return the evacuees safely to their homes, and next October 7th will only be a matter of time. I am not ready to put up with such a fatal injury to Israel’s security, so we will not agree to it.”
The United States appears to be pressuring Israel to accept the terms and establish a “palestinian” state in Judea and Samaria and Gaza as a way to end the war. This absurd and insane suggestion has no support across left, right, and center in Israel.
A great example of this is President Isaac Herzog’s statement at the World Economic Forum in Davos last week: “If you ask an average Israeli now about his or her mental state, nobody in his right mind is willing now to think about what will be the solution of the peace agreements, because everybody wants to know: Can we be promised real safety in the future?”
So what is going on? Essentially the Biden administration, which is replete with anti-Israel and woke advisors and “strategists” believe that Israel was innately born in sin and now is the time to force a final status agreement down its throat. They are not naive – they like everyone else are aware that a two state solution is Israel’s final solution. They are cornering Israel and essentially blackmailing it to sign its own death warrant.
Israel’s globalist and elitist class are expected for their own survival to play along - after all, their loyalties are not with the State of Israel nor its citizenry, rather only with themselves. Israeli elitists along with the far left are already pushing for a take down of Israel’s government and end the war. While they are making a lot of noise in protests – they still number only in the hundreds. Most of the country rejects their attempt to force Israel to capitulate and essentially commit suicide.
While Bibi has been lambasted by both right and left, his stance on the two-state solution the Biden administration is now pushing, renders him an enemy of the global elite and America’s Democratic woke left. Although his stubbornness is supported by a majority of the country – his refusal to stand strong against the Biden administration earlier in the war might have already weakened Israel’s case in the face of unrelenting pressure.
Only by clearly telling Biden and his team that Israel will never stop fighting and will control all of the Land of Israel can Israel’s safety and future be guranteed.
