WhatsappThe IDF started its operation against the Jenin terror network this morning with attacks from the air. IDF forces have been given a wide level of operation flexibility, which means they can do what they need to do to knock out the terror infrastructure within Jenin.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the following on the operation:
“The focused effort on the part of the defense system against terror centers in Jenin is advancing as planned,” Gallant said. “Our action targets terrorists and those who send them. We are maintaining preparedness and high alert in all sectors, and we are prepared for every scenario.”
Brigadier-General Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesman, spoke Monday morning about the IDF’s counterterror operation in Jenin.
“We are preparing for significant fighting within the [Jenin] camp,” Hagari told 103 FM Radio. “Our goal is to hit a number of centers of of active terrorists.”
“We began this operation with a tactical surprise – we added aerial attacks and that allowed us to surprise them. Right now we are moving within the camp. There is fighting, but we are still preparing for additional significant fighting.”
