After the release of the Trump ceasefire and the end of the war outline, Israel officially accepted the terms of the deal to end the war. After two days of relative silence, ministers have now been given the green light to speak out in favor of the outline.
Foreign Minister Saar: “Israel is interested in reaching an end to the war in Gaza based on President Trump’s proposal and in accordance with the principles established by the Security Cabinet.”
According to the proposal, all 48 kidnapped and killed people will be returned to Israel on the first day of the deal, and at the same time, hundreds of convicted terrorists and thousands of Palestinian prisoners will be released. At the same time, Israel will halt Operation “Gideon’s Chariots II” to capture Gaza City, and immediate negotiations will be opened to end the war under Trump’s personal leadership. As long as the negotiations continue, fighting will not resume.
Last night, it was reported that Hamas had effectively rejected Trump’s offer to release the hostages. According to the sources, as reported by the Al-Arabiya newspaper, the offer “includes many traps and mines that must be dismantled, to include fair conditions that meet everyone’s demands, and especially an end to the war, which is the focus of Hamas’s interest.”
So what’s next?
Trump’s proposal gave Hamas a binary choice. End the war by releasing the hostages on day one, or be destroyed. Hamas will never release all of the hostages on day one because the terror group loses the one piece of leverage it holds onto, and without it, Israel can wipe them out within a short amount of time. Trump’s deal essentially undercuts Hamas’s claim that it is Israel prolonging the war. With “Gideon’s Chariots II” now underway, it seems Hamas would rather die a martyr’s death than end Gaza’s suffering and end the war.
President Trump has ripped off Hamas’s mask and put the onus on them to either agree to his deal or be annihilated. Israel has already begun to level Gaza City, what’s coming next will end Hamas’s rule forever.
