Journalism is not always considered a dangerous job. But in war zones – all war zones – it is dangerous. Israel’s hot spots are no different. Journalism on the front lines can sometimes pay big rewards. But it can also get you killed.
When the Al Jazeera journalist was killed in the crossfire between Arabs and Israeli soldiers, it should not have come as a surprise to anyone. But, the kneejerk blaming of Israel, which also should not come as a surprise, is morally wrong.
This is not the first time that Israel is perhaps wrongly blamed for an unfortunate by-product of the battle on terror. But what must be made clear is that if the terror attacks from Arabs towards Israelis would stop, there would be no need for anti-terror measures, and journalists would not be hurt in the crossfire.
