Saudi Arabia has a southwest corner that barely borders Israel at Israel’s most southern point – Eilat. However, Saudi Arabia is a major player in the Middle East and in the world in general. The amount of oil reserves that Saudi Arabia possesses places them in the driver’s seat with so many countries who are either partially or completely reliant on them for oil.

No country has destabilized the Middle East more in the last decade than Iran. But Qatar is now vying for the top spot as the main agitator in the Middle East. It is not only Iranian money that is both literally and figuratively supplying Hamas and Hizbullah with weapons to attack Israel. It is Qatar money and influence too. Saudi Arabia has more to lose than nearly any other country.
That is why Saudi Arabia and Israel are quite close to reaching a peace agreement. They both have common enemies – Iran and Qatar. If Israel persists and continues to grow economically, it will indeed become inevitable that Saudi Arabia will sign a serious peace agreement with Israel in order to keep the Middle Easte stable. Donald Trump’s Abraham Accords are clearly focused on achieving this level of cooperation. It would not be a shocker if within five years, there is a high-speed train that connects Riyadh to Tel-Aviv.
