The World’s First Orthodox Jewish Male Olympian
Listening to AJ Edelman speak about his love for G-d and his passion for the olympics is unique. Being the first Orthodox Jewish male olympian ever is definitely a title to be proud of. There are obviously many male olympians. And there are many male Orthodox Jews. But AJ Edelman is the first to combine those two titles.
And he doesn’t just wear the hat of an Orthodox Jew without being proud to wear that hat. He turns to G-d. He believes that G-d has made him successful. Edelman’s faith is inspiring. He turns to G-d and to prayer during his most significant times as an athlete, and that is something extremely praiseworthy.
The way to be successful is by putting G-d first. Even with the failures that AJ Edelman experienced, he still believed in G-d. He did not abandon his faith or his passion to succeed and represent Israel in the olympics.
To be in the limelight as an Orthodox Jew can be complicated. Edelman knows what it means to represent his people and country. We all have a lot to learn from this special Jew.
