“Six Million” were killed. What a blatant way to ignore the true nature of the Holocaust. The willful destruction of millions of Jewish people was not an incidental killing of the Jewish people. It is true that many people that were killed during World War II were in the wrong place at the wrong time. But the destruction of the Jewish people was different. The entire destruction of the Jewish people was a planned attempt by one race to destroy the entire Jewish people.
The Nazis succeeded in destroying 2/3 of the Jewish people in Europe. More than 6 million Jews were killed during World War II. Many hundreds of thousands of Jews were also killed fighting against the Nazis – in the armies of the Allies – the American Army, British Army, Australian and Canadian Army, and especially the Russian Army.
The uniqueness of the event known as “The Holocaust” was not just the magnitude of what happened. Sadly, there are other examples of mass killing. Chinese civilians were killed in the millions during World War II. But the systematic attempt to destroy an entire nation – the Jewish nation – in the fashion that the Nazis did during World War II was unique.
