“We can’t allow law enforcement to enforce the laws.” That is a classic hilarious Ami Horowitz line that sums up how logic is completely twisted around and used to do exactly the opposite of what any reasonable person would think.
The anti-ICE protesters are a controversial group who are doing their utmost to keep America from enforcing the law against illegal immigration practices. This is liberalism that has gone awry and into the land of progressivism. The focus of the protesters is not as much about doing what is right as it is about stopping Donald Trump. Many of the protesters feel that America’s core values are off when they see the United States kicking out illegals. There is some truth to their thoughts and feelings.
If President Trump’s policies were seen in a vacuum, it is arguable to view the enforcement of his policies as dictatorial and brutal. But the fact of the matter is that most of President Trump’s policies are a response or counter to the extreme open-door policies of the Obama and Biden administrations that allowed in millions of illegals. The Democrat policies were clearly driven by the goal of winning elections in the future.
This is just of the reasons that President Trump has decided to put an end to it. He also sees the fentanyl related deaths and crime-ridden neighborhoods in major urban centers and has decided that this must be reversed. That is sound common sense.
There probably is a happy medium somewhere between kicking out hundreds of thousands of illegals and an open-door policy. But that will probably wait till the next President to implement.
