Tehran’s New Trick: Talk Peace, Build Nukes

In a move that looks more like strategy than surrender, Iran’s leadership has reportedly ordered the opening of negotiations with the United States — but only on one narrow subject: its nuclear program.

According to a source inside the Iranian government speaking to Fars News Agency, Iran’s president has instructed officials to begin talks limited exclusively to the nuclear file.

Nothing else.

Not Iran’s regional terror network.
Not its missile program.
Not funding for Hamas or Hezbollah.
Not weapons shipments to Syria or Iraq.

Just nukes.

That distinction matters.

Because Tehran isn’t signaling moderation — it’s compartmentalizing.

For years, the regime has used negotiations as breathing space: slow talks, pocket sanctions relief, stall inspections, and quietly advance enrichment behind the scenes. A “nuclear-only” framework allows Iran to protect everything else that actually fuels its war against Israel and the West — its proxy armies, precision missiles, and regional destabilization strategy.

In other words: talk about centrifuges while rockets keep flowing.

This approach also gives Tehran diplomatic cover. By appearing “reasonable,” the regime hopes to ease pressure from Washington while avoiding concessions that would weaken its grip on power at home or its terror infrastructure abroad.

From Israel’s perspective, this is not de-escalation.

It’s tactical delay.

And history is clear: every time Iran buys time, its breakout capability improves.

The question now isn’t whether talks will happen.

It’s whether the West is about to fall for the same playbook — again.

Jerusalem is watching closely. Because while diplomats talk, enrichment doesn’t stop.

And neither does the threat.
