Dr. Phil asks some tough questions while maintaining clear support for the State of Israel and Benjamin Neanyahu. But Prime Minister Netanyahu artfully clarifies that despite the length and complexity of Israel’s battle against Hamas and six other fronts, Israel with Netanyahu at the helm is indeed determined to finish the job. We simply have no choice.
Hamas, in the end, will be a rather powerlesss terrorist group and will not have the flow of weapons continuing into Gaza. Israel has completely stopped the ridiculous idea of allowing flow of weapons from Egypt. Over time, Hamas will probably end up poor and powerless and will probably ultimately lose their power structure in Gaza. The very last dead hostage will probably be returned in the coming weeks or months, fulfilling Netanyahu’s promise that every last Israeli hostage will come home – including those who were killed.
But the truly amazing events of the last two years have been the disintegration of the threats from Hizbullah in Lebanon and the Assad regime in Syria, followed by Israel and America’s successful short missile war against Iran. Despite all of that, the threats continue to abound. Yemen has not been neutralized and Iran may indeed be rearming quickly despite their apparent crumbling internally. Turkey is attempting to assert its dominance in the region while Egypt has a massive standing army.
With these challenges not abating, Netanyahu, a staunch opponent of term limits, is poised to run and perhaps succeed in an election for what many Israelis feel is the 20th time. Even if Netanyahu is able to cobble together a colaition and stay in power, he will probably be far less powerful. The next election will probably fill the Knesset with many new faces – especially of returning war veterans driven to change the norms of Israel’s leadership. It won’t necessarily be a swing to the right as much as a swing to the young and brave generation that stood up on October 7th and fought back the enemy.
Netanyahu is indeed one of a kind and will always be known as a legendary figure in Israel. But he is wrong about not supporting term limits and it is certainly time for a new leadership class in Israel to rise up and take Israel to another level as Israel continues its spiritual renaissance that has quietly been revolutionizing much of Israel over the last two years.
