The BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) Movement is a horrific, antisemitic movement. Everyone should call it out for what it is.
#WATCH US Sec. of State @SecPompeo declare BDS antisemitic, consistent with @theIHRA working definition. Pro-BDS groups, including many claiming to support #HumanRights, are propelling antisemitism. pic.twitter.com/YUlbEM74ve— NGO Monitor (@NGOmonitor) November 19, 2020
Calling BDS What it is
Antisemitic. That is exactly what the BDS Movement is. You cannot claim they are not antisemitic. Their founders created the movement to destroy the Jewish state. They help “Palestinian” terrorists destroy Israel.
This is not a matter of opinion, this is a matter of fact. Anyone who supports the BDS Movement cannot claim they don’t hate the Jewish people. People like Ilhan Omar support boycotting Israel. She is a complete antisemite and completely against the Jewish state.
The question is, what do people do once they tag the movement as antisemitic? Secretary of State Mike Pompeo lays it out here. But on a non-governmental level, people must fight against the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement on college campuses (and beyond). Universities must not allow hate groups like these to spread libels against Jews and Israel.
It is Nearly Impossible to Boycott Israel
Not only is it irrational to boycott a country that represents democracy and freedom, but to be honest, it is basically impossible. Israel has invented and developed so much for the world that trying not to benefit from anything made by Israel is just futile. From technology to medical to agriculture, Israel has just given and given. Research, medication, military – Israel just continues to develop. What a country!
