Rosh Hashana is the start of the year on the Jewish calendar. It is a time to reflect and grow spiritually. And PM Netanyahu has a special request.

Rosh Hashana

Rosh Hashana is commemorated on the first of the month of Tishrei on the Jewish calendar. It is one of the High Holidays and one of the most well known holidays in Judaism. Even those who are not observant celebrate Rosh Hashana. It is filled with holiness and spirituality. Every Jewish soul yearns for that. There is something so beautiful about the fact that so many join together to celebrate this holiday and connect with God. Rosh Hashana has the power to lift up anyone.

Especially in Israel, you will hear everyone proudly shout “Chag Sameach” or “Happy holiday.”  Because in Israel, Jewish holidays are national holidays. Even the prime minister celebrates the holidays!

PM Netanyahu’s Requests

The prime minister of Israel always has a special message for the holidays.

He discusses how much the Jewish people have accomplished in recent years – how far we have come. Bibi Netanyahu believes in the Jewish people and the Jewish future. It is encouraging and empowering to hear the leader of the State of Israel say that.

So, what are his requests? “First, reach out to a fellow Jew. Embrace him or her. Understand that above all our differences is this great commonality. And second, come to Israel. Come for a visit. Stay. But first come. Next year in Jerusalem. See you here – soon.”

So, what are you waiting for?
