The nation of Israel is a nation that lives off of prayer, G-d, and the Bible. They seek to be closer to the One Above. And King David knew that well.

Prayer for the Nation of Israel

King David was asking for peace in this Psalm. The words are from Psalm 122 and are translated as follows (Courtesy of Chabad.org): “For the sake of my brethren and my companions, I shall now speak of peace in you. For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I shall beg for goodness for you.”

The singer, Yonatan Razel, sang this beautifully. It is not an easy feat to sing the words of King David that are thousands of years old. But some people are just meant to.

Music is Unique

Music connects people of all types. And it also connects people to situations.

What is so unique about music is that it is used in happy times, sad times, and everything in between. Many things are only appropriate for one occasion or the other. But not music. Music has the ability to create a mood – whether it be a more upbeat mood or a more somber mood. Or maybe even the combination of both.

Even when you don’t understand the words, sometimes, you can get a feel for the song and the meaning behind it. Just like a smile is universal and everyone understands what it indicates, music also has that aspect.

And Yonatan Razel is definitely able to convey the message that music offers to the world.
