Early Wednesday morning the IDF and Shabak successfully captured Muhammad Al-Nabulsi, the brother of now eliminated terror leader Ibrahim Al-Nabulsi.
Ibrahim Al-Nabulsi was the leaders of the Lions’ Den, a terror group based in Shchem. Along with Muhammad Al-Nabulsi, the IDF captured another 3 wanted terrorists. One of the suspects was wanted for the shooting at Huwara.
In Dura, Tarqumiyah, Al ‘Eizariya, Bayt Fajar and Tekoa, the IDF carried out anti terror raids across Judea and Samaria last night.
While terror groups are deeply embedded in most of the areas the “palestinian arabs” occupy in Judea and Samaria, Shchem has been by far the worst.
Implications on Israel’s Election
With under a week to go, Israel’s transitional government is finally realizing that security is of prime importance to Israelis. While they have ordered raids before, it is clear that the timing of the increased security activity is aimed at supplying headlines to the public. After all Gantz is weakening in the polls and his credentials as “Mr. Security,” has taken a beating.
While this strategy has worked in the past, the Israeli street does not seem impressed as the internal security issues are far more systemic than a few extra anti terror raids can handle. While Bibi may not have the magic 61 needed, Itamar Ben Gvir is skyrocketing in the polls due to his focus on security.
