While most of the news has pivoted to the African infiltrators caught coming into Israel by way of the Lebanese border, the real story is the previous night’s attack by the IAF on Syria and Hezbollah’s rocket attack as retaliation on Israel.
Israel has often carried out attacks against Iranian weapons depots placed in Syria in order to degrade the Iranian regime’s offensive capabilities. However, there has rarely been any sort of retaliation until now.
In response to Israel’s preemptive attack, Hezbollah fired a volley of rockets at Israel’s north. Although there was no serious damage and Iron Dome took out most, the precedent is now set.
The real question is whether or not the missile barrage from Hezbollah portends a real change in policy from Iran or whether it was a one off.
