As the Russia-Ukraine conflict grinds on and Putin continues to be focused on winning at all costs, food prices around the world continue to rise.

Together Ukraine and Russia account from anywhere between 22% to 29% of the world’s wheat supplies. By shutting down exports, prices are rising fast. Wheat prices affect global food prices the most out of any of the staples and with Russia and Ukraine battling over control of the country, supermarkets in America are beginning to see a dramatic rising in the pricing of all of their food items.

With America moving Patriot Missile Batteries to Eastern Poland, the war does not seem to stopping. In fact, all indications show that it will keep on going, with a likely invasion of Kiev in the next few days.

CORNERING PUTIN MAY BE DEVASTATING FOR UKRAINE

The idea behind placing crippling sanctions on Putin was to slow down Putin’s drive for continuing the war. The problem is that it appears to have made Putin less likely to stop fighting as he has nothing to lose. Every sanction that is placed, makes it more likely that the war may just keep expanding, unleashing Russia’s full might, not only against Ukraine but beyond its borders.

This is exactly what experts have been warning about since well before 2015. In the video below, John Mearsheimer argues that it is in fact Western pressure against Russia that acts as a trigger for Russian expansion.

If it was so obvious that NATO’s expansion and now crippling sanctions are driving Russia over the edge, then why is the West so obsessed with pushing forward? The answer to this question is the key to understanding the real reasons for the current conflict and who is really responsible for it.
