This is Gerry Downing. What he said here about Israel was said on a show on the pro-Hezbollah Mayadeen TV (Lebanon). Who is it hosted by? None other than former British MP George Galloway, another vile antisemite.
Downing clearly supports terrorism. He supports what the Palestinian Arabs are doing to try to destroy the Jewish people and the Jewish state. Not only were his comments antisemitic, but he is wrong about Israel.
The Truth
Israel is not an apartheid state. Israel is not like apartheid South Africa. Even South Africans will tell you that! Arabs have freedom in Israel. In fact, they are freer in Israel than anywhere else in the Middle East! Israel is a democracy. There are Muslims in the Israeli government. There are Muslims who serve as judges. Muslim policemen. Muslim IDF soldiers. The list goes on and on. How is that apartheid?
Secondly, the law that Downing refers to – the Nation State Law – does not state what he said it does. Arabs are not treated as second-class citizens. And neither are the Druze. Or anyone else. Maybe Gerry Downing should educate himself a bit more before opening his mouth to advocate for the destruction of the one and only Jewish state and the one and only democracy in the Middle East.
