WhatsappThe UN Security Council has once again exposed itself for its hypocrisy in regards to the State of Israel. They clearly do not truly care about justice or human rights. The Security Council actually blocked the motion to denounce Hamas. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley responded and slammed the member states. She clearly blamed them for ignoring true atrocities, like the recent Hamas rocket attack on Israel.
Haley Slams the Member States
The United States requested a special meeting of the UN Security Council to vote on a resolution to denounce Hamas. Kuwait, a non-permanent member of the Security Council, blocked the U.S. measure to denounce Hamas. Instead they offered a resolution calling for the “international protection” of the Palestinian people.
This set the stage for Nikki Haley to stand up and deliver a blistering speech to the UN. US Ambassador Nikki Haley gave one of the most powerful speeches on the floor of the Security Council. She exposed the hypocrisy of the Council and the member states. ‘It’s outrageous for the UN Security Council to fail to condemn rocket attacks,’ Haley said.
Haley expressed extreme frustration at the lack of the council’s agreement to condemn the rocket attacks. “Hamas openly claims responsibility for this attack. They do so proudly. Their only regret is that the attack did not kill anyone,” continued Haley.
Furthermore, she then exposed the track record of hypocrisy of the Security Council itself. She noted the multiple times the Council is asked to denounce Israel for defending herself.
“I urge the members of the Security Council to exercise at least as much scrutiny of the actions of the Hamas terrorist group as it does Israel’s legitimate right of self-defense.” Once again, she hits it on the nose.

Protection for Hamas, NOT Israel
Haley said the “outrageous terrorist attack” carried out by Hamas naturally triggers a reaction of Israel in self-defense. She added that the people of Gaza “need protection from Hamas” and not from Israel. This is a critical point. She spoke of a “disconnect” and of “hypocrisy” in relation to the Security Council attitude toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
“Hamas’ stated purpose is the destruction of Israel. Their aim is to create as much damage as possible and to provoke a response in self-defense that will provoke international condemnation of Israeli action,” Haley said.
Hamas Oppresses its own People
They use international humanitarian aid in order to build terror tunnels and purchase rockets to shoot at Israel. This is money that should be used to invest in schools, hospitals or jobs. Hamas and Gazan terrorists continuously bomb the humanitarian crossing point where Israel transfers food, medical supplies and materials to Gaza. Just this week, they also shot a rocket at the electric towers that knocked out electricity to 1,300 Gazan homes. In all of these cases, Hamas complained to the world that Israel is suffocating Gazan people and that the occupation must end. However, Nikki Haley and the US understand that it is Hamas itself that occupies and oppresses Gazan Arabs, NOT Israel.
