Another Trump ceasefire before the job is finished???
Let’s be real. Negotiations with Lebanon can not guarantee long-term security for Israelis because Lebanon is a failed state and Iran/Hezbollah have a huge influence in the country likes to an enormous population of jihadi Shiite Muslims.
Now let’s deal with the confusion about the Lebanon ceasefire pushed by President Trump.
Some are celebrating. Others are furious. Most people simply don’t understand what it actually means.
So let’s cut through the noise.
Yes, just like in Gaza, this ceasefire stops Israel from fully finishing the job. Let’s not pretend otherwise. We were on a path to fundamentally dismantle the Hezbollah threat, to change reality in southern Lebanon once and for all, and once again, international pressure, this time led by Trump, hit the brakes.
But if you only see that, you’re missing half the picture.
Because buried inside the official statements is something extremely important. The U.S. State Department made it crystal clear:
“Israel will retain the right to take all necessary measures for self-defense, at any time, against planned, imminent, or ongoing attacks.”
Read that again. Carefully.
This is not a traditional ceasefire where Israel’s hands are tied. This is a framework that gives Israel operational freedom to continue eliminating threats, anytime, anywhere necessary.
Something no other U.S. President afforded us.
And it goes even further.
Senior Israeli officials have already clarified that the IDF is not going back to the old reality. We are holding a significantly expanded security zone across Southern Lebanon, from Naqoura all the way to Syria, including strategic areas like Bint Jbeil, far beyond the limited positions we held before this war . This is not symbolic. This is a fundamental shift in control on the ground.
Even during the previous ceasefire, hundreds of Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated, and now, that same policy will continue, across all of Lebanon if needed .
In other words: The war doesn’t stop. It changes form.
If this sounds familiar, it should.
Because this is exactly what happened in Gaza.
We were told to stop. We were pressured to agree to a ceasefire. And yet, Israel continues operating, continues eliminating threats, and remains in control of large parts of Gaza, areas we should never give up again if we truly want long-term security.
The same model is now unfolding in Lebanon.
We have forces deployed deep inside southern Lebanon, up to 10 kilometers in, and under this framework, those forces are considered legitimate “Israeli targets,” meaning any threat against them justifies immediate action. That gives Israel a wide operational umbrella to continue doing what must be done.
So yes, on one hand, this ceasefire prevents total victory…for now.
But on the other hand, it creates a reality where:
* Israel holds more territory
* Israel has broader operational freedom
* Israel can continue weakening Hezbollah systematically in Lebanon, just as we are doing to Hamas in Gaza
That’s not defeat. That’s unfinished business.
And here’s the part many people struggle with:
No, this isn’t perfect, but, no American president in modern history has given Israel this level of backing we are receiving right now, militarily, diplomatically, strategically.
The coordination, the freedom of action, the alignment, it’s unprecedented.
But even the best ally has limits, interests, and pressures, and we must not forget that.
Trump clearly wants to contain the broader regional escalation, especially with Iran, and believes ceasefires like this help him do that.
Many of us may disagree with that approach, believing it’s a mistake, because there is no negotiating with a 1,400+ year religious jihadi ideology that is intent on taking over the world in the name of Allah.
But don’t lose perspective.
Without this level of American backing, this war would look very different, and far more constrained. Don’t forget, under the Biden administration, they withheld delivering munitions, rockets and D-9 bulldozers that we already paid for! In an existential war we were fighting.
Which brings us to the real responsibility:
Ours. And our reliance on the only one source we can truly trust 100%, God.
We cannot outsource our security, even to our greatest ally.
It is up to us, the people of Israel, to understand the reality, to speak the truth, and to pressure our elected leadership to finish the job. Not partially. Not symbolically. But fully, until the threats on our borders are removed in a way that actually prevents the next war. And continue thanking God for the miracles he is doing for us.
Because if we stop halfway, history has already shown us what happens next.
Another round. Another escalation. Another October 7th.
So don’t be distracted by headlines screaming “ceasefire.”
Look deeper.
The IDF is still operating. We are holding territory. We are eliminating threats.
The opportunity is still here.
The question is not if we will finish the job against our jihadist enemies, as is our national mission in ridding evil from God’s holy land, and apply Israeli sovereignty with rebuilding of Jewish communities, but when.
This war isn’t over until all jihadis who support killing Jews and destroying Israel no longer remain in Gaza, liberated Jewish tribal lands of Dan and Naftali in Southetn Lebanon, or in Judea and Samaria. That is the only way we protect our lives from future terror.
The question is when we will have the emunah, clarity, and the courage to see it through to the end.
Am Yisrael Chai.
