Christians Who Support Israel
PM Bibi Netanyahu is addressing those Christians who love and support the Jewish state. He knows that they are one of the groups to thank for keeping Israel strong.
Christians are proof that you do not have to be a Jew to love and appreciate Israel. G-d’s land is G-d’s land. The truth is the truth. And anyone who loves G-d and the truth should love Israel. Anyone who wants peace in this world should love the way Israel does everything in its power to bring about peace.
A Grateful Attitude
It is incumbent upon every Jew to be thankful: Thankful to G-d, to friends, to those who do good for them. It is called Hakarat Hatov, literally meaning recognizing the good.
When a Jew wakes up in the morning, the first thing that comes out of his mouth is gratitude to G-d in a prayer known as “Modeh ani.” He thanks G-d for returning his soul to his body.
And that is how a Jew should experience his entire day – with an attitude of gratitude. Saying that prayer in the morning gives a person the proper perspective on how to approach the day.
Bibi is expressing that attitude here. He is recognizing that those who support Israel deserve to be recognized and thanked, no matter what religion they practice.
