Elizabeth Rogliani knows what its like to not take small changes to her country seriously. Venezuela used to be a thriving oil rich and free country. Then came the changes.
“We didn’t believe it could happen to us. This is Venezuela. We know what freedom is like.” But the change happened and it happened fast.
The Chavez government started taking down statues, then when there was no protest he changed the education curriculum. After a short while he took total control.
“Always be on guard. Never believe something can’t happen.”
The current insurrection in the USA has all the ingredients of a full fledged revolution. Revolutions can lead to a better future for its participants and those of the country at the end, but far too often they result in misery and bloodshed.
America is witnessing a total collapse in the foundational underpinnings of its society. This is an inflection point. It is good to learn from others who have lived through similar events.
