The world has already begun to react over Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s visit to the Temple Mount.

At the behest of the UAE and China, the UN Security Council is slated to meet this Thursday in connection with Itamar Ben Gvir’s visit to the Temple Mount. Despite Ben Gvir’s many visits to the holiest site in Judaism as an MK, this visit was his first as a top minister in Netanyahu’s newly installed government.

Itamar Ben Gvir has backed open prayer for Jews on the Temple Mount with adjusting the so called “status-quo” to something more inline with the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron where both Muslims and Jews share the site equally. While he has not mentioned anything specific now, it is clear he wants to move in that direction.

Statements by Ben Gvir show he has no intention of changing his approach. After all, the threats by Hamas that they will retaliate have not materialized.

Ben Gvir’s actions show repeatedly he is the real deal and perfectly willing to stand up to the entire world. What is surprising is that Bibi appears to back him on all of this. The fact is, Israel is not the secular-communist utopia America’s reform jewry makes it out to be. There has always been a strong traditional undercurrent. Demographics have now made this traditional public the leaders in the Land of Israel and it does not appear that the Israeli body politic will turn the clock back.

The world has always been scared of a real Jewish revolution. It seems with the new government, the authentic Jewish revolution is now upon us. Will the world insist that Jews be prevented from actualizing their religious rights on their holiest site? It looks like that is what they are going for – this time Israel appears ready to stand up to the entire world.
