The war between Russia and Ukraine, which is really a war between NATO and the Russian Federation is all about energy independence. Or from the EU’s vantage point – all about their dependence on Russia.
While the US and Europe have been busy pushing a green agenda and working on lowering carbon emissions, Russia has built an impregnable gas and oil empire. Russia’s gas and oil exports is what the EU survives on and because of it the EU, which is a large chunk of NATO, can never truly take on Russia.
In the past there had been talk of Europe finally finding another source of gas and oil. The USA, which could have helped by shipping liquified gas over to the EU, has largely scaled back on its traditional energy production due to America’s descent into green madness, which has accelerated its decline and disabled its ability to give teeth to its diplomacy.
At the start of the conflict, Putin faced serious NATO backed resistance in the form of the Ukrainian army. However, the beginning of the war was only a preliminary set of battles that have now trailed off to make way for the real war, which is being won by Putin, thanks to his energy dominance.
The winners in this world know that they cannot retreat within some sort of false utopian vision involving virtual reality and unproven forms of energy. While there is a place for culture and spirit, which is the fuel and backbone of a healthy society, only by dominating in the physical sphere can true dominance across the geopolitical one be maintained.
While Americans argue over which brand of wokeism they ascribe to, Putin understands how to win. The world has entered an inflection point and a crossroads where the West’s control over the globe is weakening at a dramatic pace. This has allowed chaos to ensue until the next global order rises from the ashes of the current one. There are really only two questions – how long will this take and who will be its leaders?
