The Middle East is in the midst of a major reset wherein the moderate Arabs and the radical Islamic Arabs in the Middle East are realigning. The moderates, symbolized by those who have joined with Israel to sign the Abraham Accords – UAE, Bahrain, and soon others. The radical Islamists are led by Iran, Qatar, Turkey, and other countries that are jockeying for more domination in the Middle East – with varying degrees of hiding their true intentions.
Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and a few other countries in the Middle East are going through many challenges as they try to survive the fallout of Israel’s massively successful weakening of the Hizbullah movement in Lebanon, and Iranian domination in general. The key aspect of fighting the radical Islamists is via a financial strangling of the economies of the radical Islamic led countries.
In Iran, this is showing it’s effects via internal turmoil. Despite all of Iran’s natural wealth from it’s resources, there are tens of millions of Iranians who are suffering financially due to the bulk of Iran’s resources being put towards promoting terror. Iranians are living under the harsh hand of dictators. But even dictators can be toppled as was seen in the late 1980’s when the “Evil Empire” of the Soviet Union crumbled from within.
This can occur today in the Middle East. The most important change that needs to occur is in the way that the United States treats Qatar, a small country of enormous wealth, with a few hundred thousand people. The US needs to literally blackmail Qatar. Qatar must be demanded to stop bankrolling terror or else the USA will need to decide to remove their Army bases from Qatar and treat Qatar like the wealthy terror supporting pariah nation that it is acting like.
Of course, Donald Trump first wanted to stabilize the US economy via massive investment – and that included massive amounts from Qatar. But Trump and Qatar knows who has the upper hand. The US is the superpower and Qatar must choose to behave or become part of a Chinese- funded enemy of the Western countries. They don’t want that either. They will buckle if they are properly demanded by President Trump.
