In the game of Middle East geopolitics – strength is key and Prime Minister Netanyahu understands that the best way to create real power is to ally with those who share the same enemies.
With this understanding, Netanyahu flew for a two day visit to nearby Cyprus to strengthen its East Med alliance with Cyprus and Greece.
Cyprus has long been a friendly country, but both Israel and Cyprus drew closer in the last few years as Turkey’s Erdogan has threatened both the Jewish State as well as Greece and Cyprus.
Turkey already occupies Northern Cyprus and has made it clear its desire to control Jerusalem. Bibi’s visit to Cyprus comes just before his first visit to Turkey in years and in a very clear way he wanted to ensure Cyprus and Greece that the East-Med alliance is here to stay.
