This is a first. Finally, a world body punishes a Palestinian Authority official for incitement to violence. They incite violence every day and the world is always silent. Jibril Rajoub, the head of the Palestinian Football Association, was punished today by FIFA, the global soccer organization, for inciting violence against Argentinian soccer players back in June. As a result of his incitement, the Argentinian soccer players received death threats to their lives and the lives of their family members. Due to this horrible violence against them by anti-Israel activists, the Argentinian soccer team canceled a game against the Israeli soccer team in Israel.
Jibril Rajoub called on Arab soccer fans to burn Messi posters and shirts if he participated in an Argentina game in Jerusalem in June. Due to his incitement campaign, the Argentinian team canceled their World Cup warm-up match in Israel.
Today, the FIFA disciplinary committee, punished Rajoub. They are banning him for one year and fining him 20,000 Swiss Francs for inciting violence and hatred against players like Messi and others ahead of the Argentinian-Israel soccer match. Rajoub is banned from attending any football matches in an official capacity for 12 months from Friday.
This is a major step forward to stopping hatred and bigotry in sports!
The Palestinian Authority, Hamas, UNRWA and all their officials, incite violence against Jews every day. In their school textbooks children are taught to kill Jews. On Palestinian Authority television programs children are taught that Israel must be destroyed.
Everyday Muslim children in Judea, Samaria and Gaza are incited to kill Jews, yet the world is silent.
It is nice that a world organization is finally punishing a Palestinian Authority official for incitement to violence against Argentinian soccer players.
Now we wait for the world to punish the Palestinian Authority and Hamas by delegitimizing them and all their incitement to kill Jews and destroy Israel.
