Israeli technology could save South Africa, but their leaders refuse

by Chaya Cikk

Israeli technology has come far in the last few years. Many other countries are learning from Israel and helping their own citizens. Yet, South Africa’s leaders are refusing.

Israeli Technology

Israeli technology is amazing! There are so many startups in Israel and there is always something new on the market. Israel is leading the way in many fields such as science, technology, medicine, agriculture and much more. I’m curious about what the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement have to say about all the great things that were invented in Israel.

Water Crisis

Every country suffers differently from a water crisis. Israel is mainly a desert land. They have found a way to turn seawater into clean drinking water. This is absolutely amazing! For some countries around the world, this can be life-changing.

However, South Africa isn’t a desert, like the land of Israel. The water crisis there stimulates from overcrowded cities. Many people are moving from rural areas to the cities. Therefore, the Cities water supply can not cope. In rural parts of South Africa, clean water is hard to come by.

South Africa & Israel

South Africa is very much a pro-Palestinian state. Not surprising considering this is where the BDS Movement was born. However, this view has become more recent over the years. Many years back, in 1947 when the United Nation voted on the Partition Plan, it was South Africa that voted for the plan.

Furthermore, South Africa is so pro-Palestinian that they are willing to let their own people suffer? Water, which is something that is in such high demand. It is something we use so much of, for washing clothes, dishes, ourselves. We use it for cooking, cleaning, and drinking.

Finally, the Government of South Africa needs to listen up! There is probably plenty of technology that you are using that was made in Israel you just don’t know it! So take the technology that will help you manage the water crisis and help saves your citizens and they’ll thank you later!
