Iran sent a missile barrage at Israel this morning that landed a few hits, one of which was a direct hit on Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva. The missile blasted a massive hole into the old surgical ward of the hospital rendering it inoperable for the time being. Thankfully, the building had been evacuated in recent days. While there were many casualties. None of them resulted in death mainly due to the decision to remove most of the patients from the building in the beginning of the war.

The hit on Soroka was not by accident, some errant missile that missed its mark. No, this missile was directed there - an ultimate act of terror. Up until today, the Ayatollah has not been targeted. Prime Minister Netanyahu has made it clear that while regime change might happen, the goal of the war with Iran is to disable their nuclear program and ballistic missile capabilities and ultimately ensure Iran no longer poses a threat to Israel. The attack on Soroka hospital may have changed Israel’s calculus going forward.

Visiting Beersheba’s Soroka Medical Center after today’s strike by an Iranian missile, Prime Minister Netanyahu said he would not rule out a strike on Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. “No one is immune,” says Netanyahu. “All the options are open.”

“The cowardly Iranian dictator sits deep within a fortified bunker and deliberately launches attacks toward hospitals and residential buildings in Israel,” Katz says.

“These are war crimes of the worst kind, and Khamenei will be held accountable for his crimes,” he warns.

Katz stated that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have “instructed the IDF to intensify strikes against strategic targets in Iran and government-related targets in Tehran, in order to eliminate threats to the State of Israel and destabilize the ayatollah regime.”

The Ayatollah and the Iranian regime’s military may thought that attacking Soroka would instill fear in the hearts of Israelis, but it may have been the last move they will make. It seems Netanyahu may be willing to take the Supreme Leader off the table once and for all.
