The IDF’s 162nd Division continues to operate in the Rafah region. During the last day troops from the 162nd killed dozens of terrorists.

There was also a joint operation of the Air Force and the 215th in which an Air Force aircraft killed the Osama Gadallah, a terrorist who served as a commander in the military intelligence of Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. He also took part in the terrorist attack on October 7th along side Hamas.

The 98th Division is still operating in the Khan Yunis area as well as the outskirts of Deir al-Balah. In the last day they have killed dozens of terrorists. In some cases the troops partnered with the air force to kill their targets. The 98th is known as a special forces division that has Matkal, Egoz, and Maglan amongst its ranks and has been the most effective in the Khan Yunis area.

While the ground war in Gaza was moving slower than desired since the beginning of the war, it is moving forward faster in the last two months since Benny Gantz and Gabi Eisenkot left the government. The rumors at the time was that these two opposition figures that had joined the Netanyahu government due to October 7th were stalling the IDF’s advance. Given the rate of Hamas’ current collapse only speeding up after their departure, the rumors might be more than just conjecture.

Now that the IDF is firmly in control of most of Rafah and simultaneously penetrating deep into the tunnel network of Khan Yunis, it is only a matter of time until most of the hostages are found and the remaining Hamas military leaders are captured or killed. With Gaza more than 80% subdued look or the IDF to be unleashed on Hezbollah very soon.
