WhatsappOver the last few days, Hezbollah has been bombarding Northern Israel with hundreds of rockets, sending hundreds of thousands of Israelis into shelter.
While the aim of the bombardment might have seemed to bring terror into the hearts of Israelis, the fact is missiles have been fired at Israel from Lebanon since October 8th. Something else is behind Hezbollah’s recent onslaught. Just before the attack by Hamas on October 7th, the terror group had spent time knocking out observation balloons around Gaza. The morning of the attack they first bombed communication relays.
Hezbollah has spent considerable months bombing Israel’s northern populace. However, the attacks over the last few days focused on knocking airbases in the North. Hezbollah was finally successful in hitting at least three airbases - in some cases causing real damage.
The IDF won’t release the results of these attacks, but Hezbollah appears ready to attack offensively into Israel in order to preempt a potential IDF invasion of Lebanon. From the beginning, Hezbollah has threatened to invade with its Radwan force and hold onto sovereign Israeli territory. Unfortunately, it appears the IDF leadership may be repeating the same mistake they did with Hamas.
