It is truly amazing that the United Arab Emirates opened up an embassy in Israel. History is being made. This is not a small move that the UAE did this. And as Jews, Israelis, or anyone who supports Israel, this is something to be grateful for.
Having said that, it is still disappointing that the UAE embassy was not opened up in Israel’s capital, Jerusalem. We are still thankful for this huge historic step, but we cannot ignore the fact that embassies should be in Israel’s capital; in the place King David declared the capital of the Jewish people thousands of years ago.
It just shows that there is still a lot of work to do moving forward in order for the world to have total recognition and respect of Jerusalem as our capital.
Again, we are still recognizing and appreciating this unbelievable moment. It is a Jewish value to have gratitude and see the good in situations; to have a positive outlook on life.
Will More Arab Countries Follow Suit?
President Trump put into motion major peace deals and major positive changes in the Middle East. The entire region is different. Will more countries follow in the footsteps of the United Arab Emirates? Will more countries make peace with Israel? It seems like nothing is impossible.
We just have to have faith in G-d and hope in humanity.
