Jerusalem. The holy Temple. The final and third Beit Hamikdash. What does it mean to people? What do people think of when they hear about it?

The Third and Final Holy Temple

How will it change our lives when the third and final Temple is rebuilt in Jerusalem? What will happen? No one knows exactly, but when the holy Temple will be rebuilt, things will definitely change – for the good, of course. We pray for it everyday. We pray for people to recognize G-d in this world and for His name to be honored and not desecrated.

Many are unaware how much the world is lacking without the Temple. They don’t realize that their own lives are lacking without the Temple. The world and our lives are still Divinely orchestrated, but there is something missing. G-d still is present, but it is not the same. There is a reason we mourn on the 9th of the Hebrew month of Av. We mourn all that has been destroyed and everything that is still being destroyed in this world because of the many people who stomp on G-d’s name. We mourn the lack of peace and love in our own lives and in the world at large.

We mourn that we don’t even know how much we are missing without the holy Temple. We cry to G-d to bring it back, even if we cannot fully grasp the concept of how our lives will change. We pray and pray. Because as Jews, even when we cannot fully understand, we still turn to G-d with complete belief.
