Conservative, Reform & Progressive Jewish Leaders Are Creating the Divide Between American Jewry and Israel NOT Netanyahu

I write this article with deep sadness that so many Jews are being misled by their leaders. This is a wakeup call to those Jews who truly are interested in the truth and remaining connected to Israel and the Jewish people. The call to action is one, stop listening to the lies and misinformation of your Conservative, Reform and progressive leaders who are making you ashamed of Israel and your Jewish identity. They are hiding from you that we are the most blessed generation of Jews ever, able to have sovereignty in our own homeland and making a huge impact on all of humanity. There is so much to be proud of, yet they focus on their own ideological agenda that, simply put, ignores reality.

The two-state solution is dead and dangerous. Yet, many leaders of US Conservative, Reform & progressive Jewry have turned the two-state solution into a religion, dismissing concerns of the Israeli public. For goodness sake, the Israeli people just voted for PM Netanyahu for a fifth term because they want his security leadership, and these US Jewish leaders are dismissing the Israeli public with their protest.

They are misleading their public with lies, blaming the growing divide with Israel on Israeli PM Netanyahu while it is they themselves who are creating the division between US Jewry and Israel. They are doing tremendous damage to US Jewry by ignoring the true danger decimating their communities, assimilation and intermarriage. In addition, their public pressure on Israel for the two-state solution is pushing away even more Jews from Israel. They are convincing their followers that Israel is to blame, leading their followers to be ashamed of Israel. Shame on them. Smart liberal Jews know their leaders are wrong, because a true liberal supports Israel, knowing that Israel supports their liberal values, but most are unfortunately too ignorant of the facts to know otherwise.

These Leaders are Dead Wrong on Israel

These leaders preach to their followers that by Israel applying sovereignty to areas in Judea and Samaria then Israel will go against their liberal values. First of all, the most blessed Arab Muslims, and all minorities in the Middle East, are those who live in Israel. Only in Israel do all minorities have all freedoms and equality. Under the Palestinian Authority and Hamas they don’t have the same freedoms as in Israel. Only in Israel do the Arab Muslims actually get to vote! Their own leaders lead without any elections whatsoever. Abbas is in the 15th year of a 4 year rule, since the last elections!

Any Arab Muslim that agrees to live peacefully under an Israeli government, and wants to receive Israeli citizenship, will then also be blessed to receive those freedoms and equality as Israelis. Clearly, any Arab that continues to support terror and violence against Israel will not benefit.

Paradoxically, by supporting the creation of a state called “palestine” these “liberal” leaders are condemning the Arab Muslims to live under persecution and oppression either under the Palestinian Authority or Hamas. Under both of those regimes, there have been no elections for over a decade, women are persecuted, gays are persecuted and anyone can be arrested and tortured for political reasons without any protection of the law.

By supporting a two-state solution, these Jewish leaders expose themselves as fools willing to go against all the “liberal” values they preach about.

Instead of allowing the State of Israel to come up with other solutions to move forward in dealing with an enemy that wants to destroy Israel, the leaders of US Conservative, Reform and progressive Jewry are leading their followers astray by religiously continuing to push for a two-state solution. Who are they to ignore the concerns of the majority of the Israeli public, that continues to vote for center-right wing parties that no longer consider the two-state solution as a viable solution that will ensure Israel’s security?

Nine Jewish groups, including five associated with the Reform and Conservative movements, wrote to President Donald Trump asking him to preserve the two-state solution in the face of a pledge by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to apply sovereignty to Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria. This is an absolute disgrace. These leaders still worship Obama, and despise President Trump. Obama dismissed Israel’s concerns about the Iran deal and President Trump canceled the Iran deal. Obama promised to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem but did not do so for eight years. President Trump fulfills that same promise, and yet these leaders were against it because why??? Even worse, these leaders preached to their followers that Trump’s moving the Embassy was a mistake! These are not leaders who care about Israel.

In their letter to the President they write “We believe that it (application of sovereignty in Judea & Samaria) will lead to greater conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, severely undermine, if not entirely eradicate, the successful security coordination between the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and galvanize efforts such as the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement that are intended to isolate and delegitimize Israel,” said the letter released early Friday to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. “It will create intense divisions in the United States and make unwavering support for Israel and its security far more difficult to maintain.”

Who cares what they think? Seriously. More than 80% of the Israeli public voted for parties that are against the two-state solution. Even their great hope, the Blue and White party, did not campaign for implementing the two-state solution, because the Israeli public wouldn’t have voted for them otherwise.

Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairs Pramila Jayapal and Mark Pocan also denounced newly re-elected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow to annex the occupied West bank as both immoral and a flagrant violation of international law.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu’s campaign threat to annex the West Bank signals an alarming and unprecedented violation of human rights and international law,” Jayapal and Pocan said in a statement. “This move to entrench Israeli control over disenfranchised Palestinians would be a moral catastrophe.”

“In the wake of his narrow reelection, we urge Prime Minister Netanyahu to reverse course from his provocative campaign rhetoric,” the U.S. progressive leaders said. “Elected leaders should be advancing the cause of peace—not undermining it. We will make clear that Congress firmly rejects the unilateral annexation of West Bank territory.”

These Congressman have a big problem. The move to apply sovereignty in Judea and Samaria does not go against international law and does not violate the human rights of the Arab Muslim residents there. They also expose themselves as hypocrites since they are silent about the daily human rights abuses those same Arabs experience under the Palestinian Authority and Hamas!

PM Netanyahu’s Announcement

“I’m going to apply sovereignty, but I don’t distinguish between settlement blocs and the isolated settlement points, because from my perspective every such point of settlement is Israeli,” Netanyahu said during a television interview. “We have a responsibility as the Israeli government. I won’t uproot anyone and I won’t place them under Palestinian sovereignty. I’ll look out for everyone.”

History of the Two-State Solution

First, we have the 1919 Faisal-Weizman agreement that was rejected by the Arabs. Interestingly, when referring to the creation of an Arab state, they used the term “Arab State” and when they were referring to the Jewish state they called it “Palestine”. Another interesting note, is that when it was referring to the Arabs, this 1919 agreement letter did NOT use the term palestinians, rather it referred to them as the “Arab peasant and tenant farmers”. Because in 1919 there were no such Arabs called “palestinians” and “palestine” did not refer to the Arabs it referred to the Jews.

Within the framework of the Paris Peace Conference, a political accord was signed on January 3, 1919, by Dr. Chaim Weizmann in the name of the Zionist Organization and by the Emir Feisal, son of the Sherif of Mecca. Under the terms of the agreement, the Arabs would recognize the Balfour Declaration and would encourage Jewish immigration and settlement in Palestine. Freedom of religion and worship in Palestine was set forth as a fundamental principle, and the Muslim holy sites were to be under Muslim control. The Zionist Organization promised to look into the economic possibilities of an Arab state and to help it develop its resources. In the same year, the Arabs and their representatives repudiated the agreement. The Weizmann-Feisal agreement was never implemented.

Text:

Agreement between Emir Feisal Ibn al-Hussein al-Hashemi, and the President of the World Zionist Organization, Dr. Chaim Weizmann
(January 3, 1919)

His Royal Highness the Emir Feisal, representing and acting on behalf of the Arab Kingdom of Hedjaz, and Dr. Chaim Weizmann, representing and acting on behalf of the Zionist Organization, mindful of the racial kinship and ancient bonds existing between the Arabs and the Jewish people, and realizing that the surest means of working out the consummation of their natural aspirations is through the closest possible collaboration in the development of the Arab State and Palestine, and being desirous further of confirming the good understanding which exists between them, have agreed upon the following:

Article I

The Arab State and Palestine in all their relations and undertakings shall be controlled by the most cordial goodwill and understanding, and to this end Arab and Jewish duly accredited agents shall be established and maintained in the respective territories.

Article II

Immediately following the completion of the deliberations of the Peace Conference, the definite boundaries between the Arab State and Palestine shall be determined by a Commission to be agreed upon by the parties hereto.

Article III

In the establishment of the Constitution and Administration of Palestine, all such measures shall be adopted as will afford the fullest guarantees for carrying into effect the British Government’s Declaration of the 2nd of November, 1917.

Article IV

All necessary measures shall be taken to encourage and stimulate immigration of Jews into Palestine on a large scale, and as quickly as possible to settle Jewish immigrants upon the land through closer settlement and intensive cultivation of the soil. In taking such measures the Arab peasant and tenant farmers shall be protected in their rights and shall be assisted in forwarding their economic development.

Article V

No regulation or law shall be made prohibiting or interfering in any way with the free exercise of religion; and further, the free exercise and enjoyment of religious profession and worship, without discrimination or preference, shall forever be allowed. No religious test shall ever be required for the exercise of civil or political rights.

Article VI

The Mohammedan Holy Places shall be under Mohammedan control.

Article VII

The Zionist Organization proposes to send to Palestine a Commission of experts to make a survey of the economic possibilities of the country, and to report upon the best means for its development. The Zionist Organization will place the aforementioned Commission at the disposal of the Arab State for the purpose of a survey of the economic possibilities of the Arab State and to report upon the best means for its development. The Zionist Organization will use its best efforts to assist the Arab State in providing the means for developing the natural resources and economic possibilities thereof.

Article VIII

The parties hereto agree to act in complete accord and harmony on all matters embraced herein before the Peace Congress.

Article IX

Any matters of dispute which may arise between the contracting parties hall be referred to the British Government for arbitration.

Given under our hand at London, England, the third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen

Chaim Weizmann                      Feisal Ibn-Hussein

Reservation by the Emir Feisal

If the Arabs are established as I have asked in my manifesto of 4 January, addressed to the British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, I will carry out what is written in this agreement. If changes are made, I cannot be answerable for failing to carry out this agreement.

More Two-State Solution Opportunities Rejected by the Arabs

1937 Peel Commission recommends the two-state solution and the Arabs reject it

1947 United Nations partition plan rejected by the Arabs

And to this day, everytime the two-state solution is offered as a solution, it is the Arabs who reject it. The latest being the Camp David Accords in 2000 when President Clinton offered US assurances for a deal between then Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Authority leader Yassar Arafat. Arafat walked away from the deal, basically saying no.
