Ceasefire? What in the World Just Happened?

President Trump last night announced a ceasefire to what he’s named the “12-Day War” between Israel and Iran. Many of us were totally confused, especially as Iranian officials denied it and Israeli officials were silent.

As all of Israel was woken up, once again, in the morning to a number of Iranian missile attacks, including a devastating hit in Beer Sheva that killed 5 Israelis, we also saw the news updates that the news of the ceasefire was true.

How do we interpret this war that we just experienced? Is it really over? Did we win?

Let’s be honest: it was a military knockout for Israel against the genocidal Islamic regime of Iran. But it came with a bitter aftertaste—and a spiritual wake-up call.

On the surface, Israel emerges the clear victor. We decimated Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, crippled their ballistic missile production capabilities, and achieved complete air superiority over Iran, 2,000 kilometers away. No ground troops. No ground invasion. Just pure strategic air precision.

We eliminated key regime targets, struck deep into the heart of Iran, even on it’s Eastern border, dismantled vital military infrastructure, and eliminated hundreds of their Basij secret police thugs and thousands of their IRCG soldiers. Many of their senior nuclear scientists? Gone. Iran’s ability to threaten us directly has been rolled back by years.

But it wasn’t just our military prowess.

We witnessed open miracles.

When hundreds of Iranian missiles rained down on our cities, many were intercepted, many missed, and far too many should have caused massive casualties—but didn’t.

What should have been mass casualty events turned into close calls. Many families survived direct hits. Lives were spared. That’s not just Iron Dome. That’s the Hand of God. We must never forget to give thanks for that.

We lost 28 of our own. Each one a world. But given the scope and scale of this war, it’s almost unfathomable that it wasn’t much worse.

IDF intelligence estimated thousands of dead in this war with Iran.

That we accomplished so much, so far away, in so short a time, with so few losses, is nothing short of a divine blessing. And we must say thank You.

Still, this ceasefire was ushered in on an unpleasant note. Iran got in a few last symbolic strikes before the implementation of the ceasefire, killing five Israelis and trying to project strength. A move designed purely for propaganda. They knew they lost this round of the war. But they needed a photo finish to save face. But, is the war over? Not at all.

So yes, this round was a knockout win for the Jewish state of Israel, with Israel coming out as the clear regional superpower. But one that leaves us with unfinished business.

Because Iran’s evil jihadist Islamic regime still stands. And now, they’ll go back to what they know best: terror proxies, cyberattacks, global threats cloaked in deniability. The war isn’t over—it’s just morphing into a different battlefield.

And yet, there’s a bigger picture.

A truly sweet victory would be seeing Iran’s persecuted minorities—Kurds, Baloch, Azeris, and others—finally break free and declare independence. Or better yet, watching the courageous Iranian people rise up and topple the Shiite regime that has oppressed them and threatened the world for decades. Who knows what this 12-Day War might lead to? Sometimes history turns in the most unexpected moments.

But let’s be clear: Israel, even with its unmatched air power, cannot overthrow a regime from 2,000 kilometers away. That can only come from the people themselves. All we can do is protect ourselves, take out their weapons of destruction, fight when necessary, and pray that truth and freedom prevail.

In the meantime, we most probably will be seeing more Sunni Muslim countries join the Abraham accords to normalize relations with Israel, as the Islamic republic of Iran no longer poses a menacing threat to them. How ironic, that it’s the Jewish people saving Sunni Muslim countries, as we will now have to focus on the threats from the jihadi Muslim Britherhood evil spearheaded by Qatar, Turkey and spreading in the West.

So we celebrate our military, we thank President Trump for his critical support, and we thank Prime Minister Netanyahu for his unbelievable leadership, but above all, we thank God. We live in a time of great peril, but also of great miracles. And this war, despite the bitter aftertaste, reminded us that we’re not alone in this fight.

Let’s not forget, now that this round with Iran is over, our mission to end the war Iran started with is on Oct. 7th, 2023, continues. We return to the urgent tasks at hand: dismantling our Islamonaz*I enemies in Gaza, bringing all of our hostages home, implementing President Trump’s Gaza emigration plan, and restoring Jewish sovereignty to Gaza. Gaza is part of our ancestral homeland. It’s time to ensure that never again will Israelis be threatened from there. It’s time to make Gaza Jewish Again, and then apply sovereignty in Judea & Samaria.

The fight for Israel’s future isn’t over. We still have critical work ahead, to defend the State of Israel, to protect Jews everywhere, and to stand as a moral beacon for the freedom-loving world. And that starts with relentless courage in standing up for truth, justice, and our eternal right to our land.

Am Yisrael Chai.

***UPDATE: This is a ceasefire. If Iran breaks it, we return to our air superiority over Iranian skies to do what we have to do, just as we do today in Lebanon.

Iran, already, just now broke the ceasefire with a missile attack to Israel’s North.

In response, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has just stated:

“In light of Iran’s blatant violation of the ceasefire declared by the President of the United States, and the launch of missiles toward Israel—and in accordance with the Israeli government’s policy to respond forcefully to any violation—I have instructed the IDF, in coordination with the Prime Minister, to continue the intensified operations in Tehran. These strikes aim to neutralize regime targets and terror infrastructure in Tehran and are a continuation of the operations carried out yesterday.”

Remember, Israel can not live with the threat of missiles like this, Israelis must be able to return to regular life and send our children to school without the fear of Iranian missiles. This is not the end!

Strengthen your faith in Hashem! This is not over yet…
