Israel Attacks Syria’s Chemical WMD Program – Did It Get Everything?

Just when you thought the Middle East couldn’t get anymore nuts, Syrian dictator Bashar Assad is said to be trying to restart his chemical WMD program.

Assad had promised to forsake chemical weapons at the start of the Syrian civil war, but as many observers pointed out he went out of his way to gas his own people. With the war over, due to Russian and Iranian help, one wonders what Assad needs a new chemical weapons program.

Israel’s attacks on the WMD sites in the last month makes it clear that the IDF believes that the Syrian regime is now developing chemical weapons to use them on Israel. If Syria succeeds in developing chemical weapons it would be a clear and present danger to Israel.

More than likely Assad is producing the weapons for Hezbollah to use. If thats the case, Israel’s heartland could be in even more trouble than it already is.
