WhatsappVideos are now surfacing showing Egyptian soldiers training in the Sinai for aerial attacks on Israel similar to the ones carried out by Hamas on October 7th 2023.
Egypt has been in increasing violation of the 1978 peace treaty it signed with Israel in 1978 by placing more and more combat forces in the Sinai. It is also building new bases designed for offensive oparations. Israel’s ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter issued a warning over Egypt’s moves that violate the peace treaty by constructing bases for offensive operations.
Despite many voices claiming that Egypt is only flexing its muscles, this is the sort of attitude that existed at the time of the 1967 and 1973 wars. Israel would do best not to be complacent, especially since el-Sisi has already blown off President Trump by cancelling his trip to Washington D.C. If Egypt is willing to do that - they are willing to do anything.
With the amount of military build up Egypt is putting forth in the Sinai there is only one conclusion to be made - el Sisi knows the Trump administration means business and he is willing to fight a war over it.
