A mother and father were killed when a Hezbollah missile hit their car in the Northern Golan Heights yesterday.

Hezbollah’s murder of Noa and Nir Barnes yesterday in the Golan left their three children without parents. At the funeral, their oldest son Matan eulogized his parents: “I have accepted the responsibility to watch my siblings.” The attack which killed the 46 year old couple was in retaliation for the IDF’s elimination of Yasser Qarnabash in Syria - Hassan Nasrallah’s former bodyguard.

According to Syrian media, Qarnabash was killed in a strike on a Hezbollah vehicle near a Syrian army checkpoint on the Damascus-Beirut highway.

The couple’s eldest son Matan said the following at the funeral: “Thanks, Mom and Dad, for the best life there is. You taught me so many things so now I am strong because of them. I know that you are proud of me up there, and you are certainly sitting and saying ‘Wow, what a family we had.’ I wanted to apologize if I hurt you, you are like oxygen to me. Pure people, in body and soul. Good people, who always helped everyone, funny people who every minute with them was happy and funny. I miss our inside jokes, I will always remember that Barnes is a moniker. In one word: thanks.”

Hezbollah began firing rockets and attacking Israel on October 8th in seeming partnership with Hamas. The attacks have only gotten worse as the months have gone by. Unfortunately, with the IDF stuck in Gaza, an invasion of Lebanon to clear Hezbollah our cannot be launched - allowing the terror group a sort of control over Israel’s North.
