The Land of Israel isn’t just any land, it’s God’s land. It’s a holy land. And that is why cleaning it and making it beautiful is a special mission. It feels different; it feels accomplishing.

Beautiful Land Initiative

The Beautiful Land Initiative (BLI) aims to clean up the litter in Israel through the help of all different types of people, from volunteers to businesses. Israel is God’s land, and BLI wants to keep it clean and beautiful. They don’t want Israel to be a dumping ground for trash and litter. Israel is holy and should be treated as such.

The Shores of Maayan Tzvi Beach

One of BLI’s latest projects was cleaning up the shores of Maayan Tzvi beach located on the Mediterranean coast. Some of the volunteers were new immigrants from France.  Some were volunteers from the U.S. and Canada. Regardless of where they came from, they came together for one common goal: making the land of Israel beautiful. It’s surprising to see how much garbage could exist in just one area…

They cleaned up 602 pounds (273 kilos) of litter and debris. That made 42 bags! And they did all of that in an hour and a half. It must have been satisfying. Imagine how much could be accomplished if everyone gave an hour and a half and contributed their time to bettering Israel.

At the end of the day, helping Israel is significant. The Jewish people longed for the land for thousands of years, and now, we have it. It is such a merit to live in times where we have the opportunity to clean up the Land of Israel – God’s holy land!
