Peace in the Middle East
The world likes to make peace in the Middle East a political endeavor. But Rabbi Aryeh Lightstone, senior advisor to Ambassador David Friedman, said it best: “Peace does not belong to Republicans or to Democrats, it is not an issue for Jews, or Christians or Muslims, it’s an issue for mankind…This is about changing history.”
Yes, when people think of 2020, they think of the Coronavirus. But now, people will also remember what happened with peace in the world, specifically the Middle East. As Lightstone said, this was not about PR. This is truly about bettering the world. With more peace in the world, people can spread more love and improve their lives.
Anyone who isn’t proud of this achievement has to question what their true goals are. Anyone who is turning it into something political and bothered by the fact that Trump helped bring about so many peace deals in the Middle East has to do some deep digging to realize whether they hate Trump more than they love peace. Because at the end of the day, everyone should be proud to live in a more peaceful time.
