This IDF Unit Makes James Bond Look Like Nothing

What makes an IDF unit so elite? Check out unit 669 and you’ll get a glimpse. These are real people! This is real life!

IDF Unit 669

There are multiple elite units in the IDF. But IDF Unit 669 is definitely unique. Those IDF soldiers who are part of this elite unit have to be ready for the most unpredictable situations. Their missions are diverse. They are trained to accomplish awesome feats in so many areas.

Many people might not realize how much preparation goes into even PICKING the soldiers to become part of special units like Unit 669. The Israeli army wants to make sure they have the best of the best doing the most demanding tasks. That is, the best of the best both physically and mentally. Not just anyone can be part of these intense units.

What is so special is that they never leave anyone behind. There is a commandment in the Bible not to “stand over the blood of your friend.” In the Talmud it says, “Whoever saves one life, it’s as if he saved an entire world.” The message is clear: Jews are commanded to help save people and not watch by as someone suffers or is dying. We have to do everything in our power to save another life. And Unit 669 stands by the rule “no man left behind.”

And even furthermore, the fact that then there is a support team to help these special soldiers readapt to civilian life after they have served in a unit like 669 is unbelievable. These soldiers are true heroes!
