Many American Jews today affiliate with the progressive wing of the Democratic party.
Whereas once the Jewish people thought that America was their future, and Israel was just in the background, today things have changed!
Israeli analyst Guy Bachor is a very well respected independent thinker in Israel and his analysis on America, the progressives in America, and especially the progressive Jews in America, is totally spot.
When European Jews flocked to America, it seemed they had a bright future there. Israel was not in the forefront of their minds. They thought Zionism was a crazy concept.
But things have shifted dramatically. Whereas the number of Jews in America used to be greater than the few thousand Jews who were brave enough to live in Israel, now there are more Jews in Israel than America! American Jewry is no longer the center of Jewish existence.
The Shift of the Democratic Party
FDR helped make the Democratic Party the party of the Jews. They supported it. They identified with it. But now, there has been a major shift. The same way that the Jewish population in the US is diminishing and the Muslim population is rising, so too in the Democratic Party. Many Democratic politicians see this demographic shift and, as any good politician, they are adjusting accordingly. And it is NOT looking good for freedom-loving Americans, and especially not for American Jews.
The Anti-Israel Jews
Some Jews have shifted their support from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. Some will just not vote in the next election because they do not know who to back and support. But some Jews, tragically, are just vehemently anti-Israel. As said in this video, there was a time when the Jews felt like they had to convert to Christianity to be accepted. And now in America, apparently you have to be anti-Israel to be accepted into the Democratic communities.
Bachor correctly points out that some American Jews, who see the mainstreaming of Jew-hatred and anti-Israel positions of Democratic leaders, are shifting their support from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. But not enough. Some American Jews will just not vote in the next election because they are no longer happy with the Democratic party, but not able to overcome the historical baggage to vote for the Republican party. But, unfortunately, a large number of American Jews today are strongly progressive, and just vehemently anti-Israel. Those will proudly continue to vote for the Democratic representatives, even with the danger they represent.
As Bachor says in this video, there was a time in Europe when the Jews felt like they had to convert to Christianity to be accepted. Today in America, apparently, many progressive Jews are deciding to be anti-Israel to be accepted into the Democratic communities.
The future of the Jewish people is not in America. It is in Israel. And if that has not already become clear enough to American Jews, the terrifying truth is that it will only become more and more clear.
