Oct. 7 Survivor Joins Together in Song with the Y-Studs

There is something very powerful about this. Daniel Wais survived the horrific massacre on Oct. 7 in Kibbutz Be’eri. Tragically, his parents were murdered. To hear a person who experienced so much loss sing a song like this one is very moving. The words of this song Vehi Sheamda are from the Passover Haggadah. (Song composed by Yonatan Razel and sung by Yaakov Shwekey.) Daniel sang this song with the American Jewish acapella group, the Y-Studs.

Transliteration of Lyrics: Vehi Sheamda Lavoteinu
Vehi Sheamda Lavoteinu Velanu
Shelo Echad Bilvad Amad Aleinu Lechaloteinu
Amad Aleinu Lechaloteinu
Vehakadosh Baruch Hu Matzileinu Matzileinu Miyadam

Translation of Lyrics: That which stood for our ancestors applies to us as well.
For it was not only one individual who stood up against us to destroy us.
Rather, in every generation they stand up against us to destroy us.
But the Holy One, Blessed Be He, redeems us from their hands.

The fact that a young man who lost so much can sing this song and connect to his roots and to G-d is extremely inspiring. May Daniel Wais and the rest of the Jewish people know of no more pain or sorrow. The nation of Israel will continue to be strong and strengthen each other and our connection to the One Above. Am Yisrael Chai!
