A Hamas terrorist who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip yesterday after approaching Israeli troops in what the military described as an immediate threat situation.

According to the IDF, the incident unfolded near forces operating under the 188th Armored Brigade in southern Gaza. The military said the suspect crossed the so-called “Yellow Line” — a designated operational boundary established by Israeli forces inside the Strip — and moved toward troops in a suspicious manner.

Military officials said soldiers identified the suspect advancing toward their position and assessed that he posed an imminent danger. Following rapid coordination with the Israeli Air Force, a precision strike was carried out, killing the terrorist before he could reach the troops.

In a statement released afterward, the IDF confirmed that the individual killed had previously infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 Hamas-led massacre, when thousands of terrorists breached the border, murdered civilians, attacked military bases, and abducted hostages into Gaza.

“The terrorist who was killed infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre, and recently tried to carry out terror attacks against IDF troops,” the military said.

The IDF did not release the terrorist’s name, though officials emphasized that Israeli forces continue to track and target individuals directly involved in the October 7 attacks, especially those attempting to reengage in combat or launch additional attacks against troops operating inside Gaza.

The incident comes as Israeli ground forces continue operations across southern Gaza aimed at dismantling Hamas infrastructure, locating terror operatives, and preventing renewed attacks against Israeli communities and military positions near the border.

The use of air support against rapidly developing threats has become increasingly common during operations in Gaza, particularly as Hamas operatives attempt to exploit urban terrain and proximity to Israeli positions to stage attacks or gather intelligence on troop movements.
