WhatsappLeftwing Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez admits her ignorance about Israel. However, this came after she accused Israel of “occupying palestine.”

This week, the Jewish people around the world will fast for an entire day. The annual fast is called the “ninth of Av.” The “ninth of Av” is a day in the Jewish calendar that the Jewish Temple was destroyed in Jerusalem – twice. Once the Babylonians destroyed the Temple and once the Romans destroyed the Temple. Jerusalem was, and always has been, the capital city of the Jewish people. The Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and the First Jewish Temple in 586 B.C.E. The Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Second Jewish Temple in 70 CE. The name of the land at the time was Judea. Hence Jews are called Jews.
History proves that the Jewish people are the indigenous people of this land. Yet some people prefer to believe the lie that Israel is occupying a state that never existed called “Palestine.”
I want to commend Ocasio-Cortez for being honest about not truly knowing the facts about Israel. However, she should have left her answer at that. Instead she proves how ignorant people prefer to parrot anti-semitic lies about Israel. In truth, they actually don’t know anything about the conflict.
