Violence continues to rage in the Shimon Hatzaddik neighborhood of Jerusalem. Jews cars and homes have been firebombed and clashes continue between Arabs and Jews as well as police.
Meanwhile, Religious Zionism MK, Itmar Ben Gvir opened an office in Shimon HaTzaddik in order to lend support to the Jews living in the area.
Senior Hamas official Suhail al-Hindi condemns MK Itamar Ben Gvir’s decision to open a bureau in Sheikh Jarrah: “Dangerous aggression and harm to the will of the Palestinian people. Jerusalem is a red line for us.”
Shimon Hatzaddik is a historically Jewish neighborhood, whose residents were driven out and killed in Israel’s War of Independence. Israel’s Supreme Court has ruled the property belongs to the Jews.
