Jewish celebrity chef Jamie Geller does a perfect job at comparing two different cultural desserts that you can find right inside Jerusalem’s marketplace.

Jewish Celebrity Chef in the Shuk

Even though some people may not like big crowds, there is something about the Machane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem, otherwise known as “The Shuk.” Before COVID-19, the Shuk was always filled with people. This video was taken before the pandemic struck the world. Jewish celebrity chef Jamie Geller is well known, and not only in the Kosher world. She has her own website, cookbooks, and has been featured on various platforms including NBC, Forbes, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and more.

Geller takes us on a mouth-watering tour to one of Israel’s most well known bakeries as well as to another vender who sells a cultural food different from what many are used to. Never thought to compare these two desserts? Well, Geller did it for us!

The Diversity

The diversity of the Shuk is something that makes it so unique. Religious and non-religious alike enjoy the atmosphere. Israelis and those visiting Israel frequent the marketplace. Old and young shop there for produce and baked goods. Restaurants are hidden in every corner of the bustling marketplace. Venders are yelling for you to buy whatever they are selling. On Friday, everyone is trying to get the freshest and tastiest Challah bread. It is truly a scene to record.

There is a reason that it is such a hotspot for tourists. It is definitely an experience to remember!
