Has Israel Already Attacked Iran?

Reports have recently leaked that Israel has already sent stealth fighters over Iran. These sorts of flyovers are in conjunction with latest attack on Iran’s presence in Syria. The latest attack targeted Iranian installations in Masyaf, Syria.

The attack knocked out more than 1,000 precision guided missiles known in short as PGMs. This was a major setback for Iran and struck a blow at the ayatollah’s ability to expand Hezbollah’s arsenal.

It also drew into focus two more things. The first was Israel’s range of movement. There are now reports that Israeli F-35s have been seen within Iranian airspace. These are stealth fighters, which means they were able to evade Russian detection in Syria, used Kurdish territory as an overflight path, and then went into Iran proper. This means that Israel has an ability to counter strike the Islamic Republic in case of an attack, or launch an attack themselves against Iran’s nuclear program.

The second point can be seen in Syria’s latest comment: “Syrians reportedly asked Iran not to launch attacks against Israel from their territory to avoid an all-out war when the country is already weakened, The New York Times reported Friday, citing a source in Damascus.

This is a key turn of events that weakens Iran’s hand in the Levant. True, Syria has very little ability to stop Iran, but the statement shows there are cracks and diverging interests in the alliance.

In the coming months, no matter who is at the helm in Israel, the government in Jerusalem will have to weigh launching an attack on Iran’s nuclear installations. This will in turn draw in Hezbollah and others into a protracted conflict with potentially a tremendous amount of destruction inside Israel and against her enemies. However bleak this may sound, Israel’s ability to reach Iran at least gives hope that the Jewish State can prevail.
