Last night Israel attacked four Hamas weapons storage sites in the Gaza Strip in response to a shooting attack on the Gaza border that critically wounded a border guard, the Israel Defense Forces said.

“The Hamas terrorist organization continues to lead the Gaza Strip towards terror while exploiting the civilian population,” the army said in a statement.

Earlier the day on Saturday, hundreds of Gazans massed near the Gaza border fence in the northern Gaza Strip and clashed with Israeli troops for a number of hours.

One IDF sniper was seriously injured when one terrorist shot right into the sniper’s shooting position, as can be clearly seen in the video below.

The Border Police officer sustained a head wound and was taken in critical condition to Beersheba’s Soroka Medical Center, where he was immediately taken into surgery, a hospital spokesperson said.

Many Israelis are shocked at the continuing disappearance of Israeli deterrence under this current government, where terrorists now easily approach IDF positions to shoot at IDF soldiers, without IDF soldiers having clear rules of engagement that allow them to shoot at the terrorists to stop them from even getting close.

The critically injured IDF sniper is 21-year-old Staff Sgt. Barel Hadaria Shmueli. He is from the Israeli city of Be’er Ya’akov.

Please include him in your prayers. His full name for prayers is:

Bar’el Ben Nitza
