Iran carried out cyber attacks against Israel

In today’s day and age, there are battles between countries that did not exist in the past. Social Media is one of the new fronts in the battle of ideas between various nations and cultures. However, the most fascinating and cutting edge battles are the battles in cyberspace. Cyber espionage is something that both Iran and Israel have been engaged in for decades. It will only grow in the future.

Iran is a country that is suffering economically due to the stiff sanctions of the Trump administration. But they have other avenues of finding funding for what they are looking to do. China and Turkey have warmed up to Iran as they both wish to be aligned with an anti-Western influence in the Middle East. China has seemingly unlimited resources to keep Iran functioning and building nuclear capacity. What needs to be said loud and clear is exactly what Iran says loud and clear – Iran continues to attack Israel and Western interests in the Middle East.

This is what is at the core of the recent peace agreements between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain. Moderate Arab countries are more fearful of Iran than they are of being accused of cozying up to Israel. And the UAE and Bahrain are doing it out in the open. They are simply not concerned about Arab-Israeli strife. They are concerned about a radical Arab minority in their midst threatening their regimes. They are right. A strong Israel is the main stabilizing force in the Middle East. That’s right – Israel is not the problem, but part of the solution to modernizing the Middle East. A huge part of the battle is online and undercover. But make no mistake about it. The leadership of Iran would wreak havoc in the world if they could. We need more cyber warfare foot soldiers.
