WhatsappThe Israel Defense Forces announced the elimination of two Hamas terrorists in separate precision airstrikes in the Gaza Strip earlier this week, including the last remaining sniper cell leader in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion and a terrorist who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre.
According to the IDF, Ahmed Hisham Mahmoud Louh, who served as the head of the sniper cell in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion, was killed in an airstrike in southern Gaza. Israeli officials noted that Louh was the final active sniper cell commander in the battalion, making his elimination another significant step in dismantling Hamas’ operational capabilities in central Gaza.
His death follows a series of targeted operations against the battalion’s sniper leadership, reflecting the IDF’s continued effort to degrade Hamas’ command structure and reduce threats posed to Israeli forces operating in the Strip.
In a separate strike in northern Gaza, the IDF eliminated Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Taroush, a company commander in Hamas’ military wing. According to the military, Taroush was among the terrorists who crossed into Israeli territory during Hamas’ October 7 attack, which resulted in the murder of approximately 1,200 people and the abduction of hundreds more.
The IDF said that throughout the war, including in recent weeks, both terrorists had continued advancing plans to carry out attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. Military officials stated that the pair posed an immediate operational threat and were therefore targeted in precise aerial strikes.
The operations are part of Israel’s ongoing campaign to dismantle Hamas’ military infrastructure, eliminate experienced commanders, and prevent future terrorist attacks.
The IDF added that Southern Command forces remain deployed in the operational area in accordance with existing agreements and will continue acting wherever necessary to remove threats to Israel’s security and protect Israeli civilians.
